Two DataLab MLIS students have been awarded travel grants to attend the 26th International Symposium on Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD 2023) in India, where they will present papers based on their Master's dissertations:
- Cecilia Kasonde: Assessing and Promoting Metadata Quality for Electronic Theses and Dissertations in Institutional Repositories Using a Policy-Driven Approach. In addition to the travel grant, the conference hosts have offered Cecilia complimentary registration and accommodation.
- Adrian Chisale: Towards Metadata Completeness in National ETD Portals for Improved Discoverability.
Attending academic events like this helps students gain an appreciation of academia, especially those planning an academic career, and helps put the research group on the world map.
